Cignal Featured in the DHS Silicon Valley Innovation Program Quarterly

April 2025. - Cignal's work supporting synthetic data generation for DHS stakeholders has been featured in the DHS Silicon Valley Innovation Program Quarterly.

Cignal LLC, an SVIP Phase 4 project partner, continues to advance the use of AI and synthetic data capabilities for DHS aviation security screening. Using their center- piece technology, Cignal Engine, Cignal is developing the ability to generate synthetic images of baggage and associated threats for use in testing the carry-on baggage X-Ray detection systems at aviation checkpoints. They are also developing the capability to generate synthetic images of people and possible threats that they might carry through checkpoints for use in testing new millimeter wave (MMW) detection systems. This will give DHS an important new capability to thoroughly test and certify new aviation detection systems for carry-on baggage and people before the systems are put into service at airports.
